The Prayer Shawl Ministry was formed in 2010 by a group of knitters who knit prayer shawls for persons in need of spiritual comfort and caring. An expert crocheter adds the loops to each shawl and gently washes them before they are deemed completed. Each shawl is blessed by the Priest-in-Charge and prayed over by the Prayer Shawl Committee before it is presented to the recipient.

Since formation shawls have been given to over 265 deserving recipients.  Shawls have been mailed as far away as the United Kingdom and The Netherlands.

New members are always needed and welcome.

Time is spent knitting, praying over shawls, sharing knitting experiences and challenges, and, best of all, developing camaraderie. This is a ministry filling the needs of our fellow parishioners for receiving or giving caring compassion in times of need.
