As we enter into another blessed Lenten season, we are reminded of
our biblical calling to "reach out to those near and far. To offer up loaves
and fishes to those who face challenges and hunger far greater than many
of us can imagine or comprehend. To continue 40 days of reflection,
fasting, prayer, and alms giving. To reach out with the hands of Christ to
help those who live without resources that many of us take for granted
on a daily basis. This year, by picking up a Mite box in the back of the church,
or at coffee hour, we have the opportunity to "reach out" and continue our
Haiti Ministry to the Haitian school we help support. By taking a Mite box
home and placing your spare change in it until it is full, you provide a gift that
in tandem with others will assist the ministry to continue our calling to our
brothers and sisters in Haiti. As our small gifts become one for others, we
see our Lenten journey fulfilled and the Easter story unfold as we bring the
full boxes back to be offered to the Cross. Piper Crussell.
It has come to our attention, that a few of our church members have needed help lately for different reasons, but we didn't know they were ill or needed help. If you know of someone that is ill, needs help, a meal delivered, items picked up at the store, transportation etc. - Please call Ginger. She will use the sign-up list of volunteers. If you wish to volunteer to assist church members in need, the sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board in Martin Hall. If you don't see someone at church, call them to see if they are OK. (telephone numbers are in your church directory) We are a caring Christian community. The health and well being of all church membership is important.
