| Mark 10: 13-16 People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this he was indignant. He said to them " Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. |
Kids Korner is a new addition to the St James, Lincoln Web Site. The children of today are our hope for the future. Their innocence and unconditional love is representative of what Jesus expects from all of us. We, as adults, can learn as much about love and trust from children as they can from us. The intent of this page is to give everyone the opportunity through quality time to let them know they are loved, and that their trust in us is justified. From time to time various games, puzzles and projects will appear on this page for children of all ages to enjoy.
We will begin with a simple Paper Angel project. Two versions are provided, a pre colored template you download to a color printer for cutout and construction. The other template requires creative coloring before the cutout. Materials required: printer, paper, scissors, glue, crayons or colored felt tip pens.

INSTRUCTIONS (This is the love part): Select the template of choice below - color the pieces as necessary - cut out the template pieces (supervision as required) - Glue the large circle (halo) onto the back of the face - Glue the wings onto the lower back of the face and halo - finally glue the hair onto the head. Now comes the sharing part - On the back of the Angel, write the young artist name and age, and the supervisors name (age not required) - bring the artist and the angel to Services and post the angel in Martin Hall for all to enjoy - Then watch for credit to be given on this page.
Template Printing Notes: The download is fast. Typically, you will see a box at the bottom of the screen labeled "Editing selected Picture". Click on the box and select file then print. If "Color" was selected, be sure to set-up for color print. Select PREFERENCES in your print set-up. If you have a checked box labeled "print color pictures in black and white", be sure to un-check the box before selecting PRINT. Have fun.
Brown Bag Sunday at St James is a special day which Fr. Bill has dedicated to the children of our parish. On this day he brings to his sermon, a bag filled with whatever he can find ( usually a toy or a game) to describe the Gospel of the day. August 3rd was Brown Bag Sunday. He used coins to demonstrate how the sharing of meager resources (5 barley loaves and 2 small fish) resulted in the return of a flood of overwhelming love. Fr. Bill provided the children with coloring material. Renderings of those colored pages have been provided by Quinton and Lidia Grolla. They truly represent the hope we have for the masses in need of food and love. Click here for Quintin, and here for Lidia to view these fantastic pictures - and thank you Quintin and Lidia for a beautiful, beautiful job - God Bless.
If we have any aspiring artists that would like to add to our gallery, you can print the loves and fishes basket by simply clicking on the link below, Place your name on the colored page, give your gifted work to Fr. Bill, and look for your beauty on the Kid's Korner.
